TNJFU Starts New Degree Course on B.Voc (Industrial Fish Processing Technology)

Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University for its first time started a UGC approved B.Voc degree programme on ‘Industrial Fish Processing Technology’ at the newly established Paraprofessional Institute of Fisheries Technology located at Royapuram, Chennai on 31.10.18. The inaugural ceremony of the programme was held at the Seminar hall, College of Fish Nutrition and Food Technology, Madhavaram. Dr. Tensingh Gnanaraj, Registrar, TANUVAS was the guest of honour and delivered felicitation address. Prof. S. Felix, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the programme. It is a skill development based degree programme leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) degree with multiple exits such as Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Degree. In his presidential address, Vice Chancellor highlighted the importance of skill oriented courses and its employment opportunities in the Fisheries sector. Vice Chancellor handed over the admit cards to 30 students for the academic year 2018-19. Dr. R. Senthiladeban, Director, TNJFU Academy welcomed the gathering and Dr. B. Ahilan, Dean, Dr. MGR. Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri delivered vote of thanks.
