The Department of Fisheries Engineering at College of Fisheries Engineering, Nagapattinamwas started to undertake teaching, research and extension activities in the field of fisheries engineering. The department offers courses for undergraduates onbasic engineering, fisheries science, aquacultural engineering, fish process engineering, and fisheries nautical and marine engineering. The department has an experienced faculty to impart quality education, solving field problems through conducting research and offer extension services to the fisher folks. The department has Metro Fish Processing Facility with preprocessing equipment, processing equipment and cold storage facilities to develop value added fish products and act as an incubation centre for self-help groups and entrepreneurs.
