The virtual World Food Day 2020 was celebrated in College of Fisheries
Engineering, Nagapattinam on 16.10.2020 with the theme on “Grow, Nourish, Sustain &
Together”. Dr. N. Manimehalai, Professor & Head, delivered the welcome address
stated that the importance of conducting world food day is to honor the foundation
date of FAO in 1945. Dr. R. Rajendran, Dean, College of Fisheries Engineering gave the
presidential address, emphasized that how fisheries and aquaculture production are
contributing in global food demand and helps to combat nutritional deficiencies. Mr. S.
Satheeskumar, III B.Tech (FE) student delivered the strategies to be followed for
effective fish production and government strategies for blue revolution was delivered by
Mr. V. Navaneethan, II B.Tech (FE) student. Students have actively participated in the
drawing, photo and writing competitions. The event was coordinated by Dr. P.
Karthickumar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Fish Process Engineering and M.Tech Fish
Process Engineering students.
உலக உணவு தினம் 2020
உலக உணவு தினம் 2020 மீன்வள பொறியியல் கல்லூரியில் இணை வாயிலாக
அக்டோபர் 16, 2020 அன்று கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. முனைவர் நா. மணிமேகலை
பேராசிரியர் மற்றும் துறை தலைவர் பேசுகையில் உலக உணவு தினத்தின்
முக்கியத்துவத்தை எடுத்துரைத்தார். முதன்மை உரையை மீன்வள பொறியியல் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் இரா ராஜேந்திரன் அவர்கள் எடுத்துரைத்தார். மீன் உற்பத்தியின் அவசியம் மற்றும் எவ்வாறு மீன் உற்பத்தி ஊட்டச்சத்து பற்றாக்குறையை போக்கும் என்பதை விவரித்தார்.
மேலும் மாணவர்கள் திரு சதீஸ்குமார் மற்றும் நவநீதன் ஆகியோர்
மீன்வள உற்பத்தியை முன்னேற்றத்திற்கான வழிமுறைகளை விவரமாக
எடுத்துரைத்தனர்.மாணவ மாணவியர்களுக்கு எழுத்துப்போட்டி, ஓவியப்போட்டி, புகைப்பட போட்டி இணை வாயிலாக நடத்தப்பட்டது. இறுதியாக விழா ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் முனைவர் ப.கார்த்திக்குமார் நன்றியுரை வழங்கி இணை விழா முடிவுற்றது.
