An awareness cum training programme on “Responsible and Deep Sea Fishing” was conducted jointly by the Directorate of Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries (DIVF) and Department of Fisheries, Ramanathapuram on 27.05.2019 at Ervadi Dhargha. Forty four fishermen attended the programme. Mr.Jayakumar, Assistant Director of Fisheries inaugurated the programme and spoke on need of Responsible and Deep sea fishing in Gulf of Mannar region. As per the guidance of the Director, Dr.G.Sugumar, the Assistant Professor of the directorate Mr.M.Kalaiarasan gave a detailed presentation on eco-friendly fishing methods and highlighted the need for phasing out gears that destroy coastal and marine ecosystems. He emphasized the need for conservation of biodiversity and optimal utilization of resources for sustainability on a long term basis. He also motivated the trainees in deep sea fishing and explained the efforts taken by the Central and State Governments to promote deep sea fishing. Mr.Tamilmaran, Inspector of Fisheries, Ramanathapuram spoke on Government initiatives in fishing methods and on welfare schemes available to fishermen. Mr.M. Kalaiarasan, Assistant Professor and DIVF staff coordinated the entire training programme. Mrs. Gomathi, Sub-Inspector of Fisheries helped in organizing the programme.

பொறுப்பார்ந்த மற்றும் ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப்பு குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு பயிற்சி

தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ.ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமாக இராமநாதபுரத்தில் செயல்பட்டு வரும் மீன்வளத் தொழில்காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சி இயக்குனரகம் மற்றும் இராமநாதபுரம் மீன்வளத்துறையும் இணைந்து மீனவர்களுக்கான “பொறுப்பார்ந்த மற்றும் ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப்பு” குறித்த ஒரு நாள் விழிப்புணர்வு பயிற்சியானது இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம் ஏர்வாடிதர்ஹாவில் 29.05.2019 அன்று நடைபெற்றது. இப்பயிற்சியில் நாற்பத்தி நான்கு மீனவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். இப்பயிற்சியை உதவி இயக்குனர் (மீன்வளத்துறை;) திரு. ஜெயக்குமார் அவர்கள் தொடங்கி வைத்து பேசும் போது பொறுப்பார்ந்த மற்றும் ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப்பு முறைகளின் தேவைகள் பற்றி எடுத்துரைத்தார்கள். முனைவர் கோ.சுகுமார் இ இயக்குனர் அவர்களின் வழிகாட்டுதலின் படி இயக்குனரகத்தின் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் திரு.மு.கலையரசன் அவர்கள் சுற்றுச்சூழலை பாதிக்காத மீன்பிடிக் கருவிகளைக் கையாளுதல் மற்றும் கடல் வளத்தை அழிக்கக்கூடிய அபாயகரமான மீன்பிடிப்பு முறைகளால் ஏற்படும் பாதிப்புகள் என்ற தலைப்பில் விரிவான விளக்கவுரை நிகழ்த்தினார். மேலும் கடல்வளத்தினை பாதுகாத்தல் மற்றும் மேம்படுத்துதல் குறித்த தொலைநோக்கு விழிப்புணர்வை வலியுறுத்தினார்;. ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப்பில் மத்திய மற்றும் மாநில அரசுகள் மேற்கொண்டு வரும் திட்டங்களையும் விளக்கிக் கூறினார். மேலும் மீன்வளத்துறை ஆய்வாளர் திரு. தமிழ்மாறன் பேசும்போது ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப்பு முறைகளை ஊக்கப்படுத்துதல் மற்றும் மீனவர்களுக்கான நலத்திட்டங்களை விவரித்தார்கள். இப்பயிற்சிக்கு செல்வி. கோமதி மீன்வள உதவி ஆய்வாளர் அவர்கள் இப்பயிற்சிக்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை முன்னின்று சிறப்பாக செய்து கொடுத்தார்.
