Introduction

TNJFU has established the “TNJFU Business School (Fisheries)” as a wing of Institute of Fisheries Post Graduate Studies,TNJFU OMR Campus, Chennai -603 103, in the year 2018-2019, which is an exclusive business school to impart various types of Business Education Programs in order to nurture the business management and entrepreneurship skills with a specialised approach to Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Enterprises. It is modelled on the pattern of modern trends in management Education and Institute Industry Interaction.

Objectives

Primary objective of MBA -FEM is to familiarise the students with all the core business management functions in detail. Also, to learn how to specifically apply the principles, concepts, theories, procedures, plans, techniques, tools, standards, regulations, good management practices, etc in the various businesses of fisheries, aquaculture and allied businesses at enterprises level. Essentially the objectives of MBA Programme is to enable the MBA graduates to become entrepreneurs in fisheries sector as we as trade up activities in other sectors.

Future Focus

Though the TNJFU fisheries business school has started with a 2 years regular MBA programme in fisheries enterprises management, it has plans to offer both regular and distance mode program such as Executive MBA (on weekends ) BBA , certificate program in fisheries Enterprises Management for those who have pursue 10 +2, reference course for Existing personnel working in fisheries industries etc… in additional several seminars , workshop and also planned that the business school becomes full fledged .
