Dr. M.G.R. FC & RI, Ponneri celebrated 74 th Republic Day

Dr. M.G.R Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri celebrated 74th Republic Day at its main campus on 26.01.2023. The institute's Dean, Dr. R. Jeya Shakila, witnessed the students' Republic Day march and raised the national flag to be honoured by the faculty and students. Mr.P. Navinkumar, and Miss. S. Mahalakshmi, spoke on theme of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The Dean spoke on the history and significance of India's Republic and emphasised the significant student accomplishments. The Dean gave out "Best Worker" awards in the following eight categories to recognise their involvement in the Institute's overall development.

The 3 rd year students, Mr. K. Monisree and Mr. R. Praveen Raj served as Master of Ceremony of the event. Members of the institute's music club performed the traditional and national anthems at the event. Republic Day Parade was coordinated by Mr. S.Soundarapandian, Asst. Physical Director and Mr.S. Ashik Ahmed [Student Pupil Leader]. Dr. C. Lloyd Chrispin, Assistant Professor, DFEES served as the Overall Event Coordinator.
