Pongal Vizha Celebrated at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi

TheStudents and staff of fisheries College and Research Institute celebrated Pongal festival at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi on 11.01.2019. Students and staff with traditional attire performed Pooja, mate pongal and celebrated with pomp. Traditional games and activities including  Pot breaking (Uri), Lucky Corner for girls & staffs, Breaking of sugarcane and eating of sugarcane for boys and girls were performed by the students.

Pot Breaking game won by Selvan. Subam of I M.F.sc.,

Lucky corner won by Selvi. Kavaiyarasi of I .B.F.sc.,

Lucky corner for staffs won by Selvi. Anusiya &

Sugarcane eating won by selvi. Sanofer Nisha II B.F.Sc., Selvan. Guruprasana IV B.F.Sc., and

Sugarcane breaking won by Selvan. Udhayakumar I B.F.Sc., 

Dr. P. Velayutham, Dean I/c. Of this institute distributed the prizes to the winners.

The event was organised by the studentsassociation. P. Sivaganesh, the General Secretary co-ordinated the event under the guidance of Dr.K.Veerabhadran, the Vice-president of Students’s Association and Dr. D. Natarajan, Assistant Director of physical Education.
