Report on Valedictory function for the 3 months certificate course “Fishing Technology and Fish Product preparation”

The Directorate of Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries (DIVF), a constituent unit of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, sponsored three months certificate course on “Fishing Technology and Fish Product Preparation”. It was inaugurated by Dr. S. Felix, Vice Chancellor of TNJFU on 16 th October 2018. The course was conducted for 3 months and a total of 22 fisher youth from various parts of Thoothukudi district participated in the course.  In the certificate course, various aspects such as marine engine repair and maintenance, dismantling and assembling of marine diesel engine, handling of navigational equipments and seamanship appliances, braiding and repairing of fishing nets, importance of responsible fishing methods, hygienic handling of fishes onboard the fishing vessel and in the shore were taught to the participants by the subject matter specialists of the institute. The valedictory function was conducted on 25.01.2019. Dr. N. Neethiselvan, Professor and Head, Centre for Incubation and Vocational Training in Fisheries, Thoothukudi, delivered the welcome address. Dr. S. Felix, Vice Chancellor of this University presided over the function and distributed the certificates to the fisher youth. In his address the Vice- Chancellor stressed the need for skill development among youth of fisher community and detailed the certificate programmes, one year diploma programmes and degree programmes to be offered by the University. Dr. G. Sugumar, Director i/c., DIVF, Ramanathapuram, during his vote of thanks elaborated the importance of such vocational training courses in fisheries and detailed the efforts taken by the Vice-Chancellor, TNJFU on the skill up- gradation of fisher youth. He stressed that the first batch of these students shall serve as ambassadors of the University and share the knowledge and information to the fellow youth of fisher community so that more needy shall be benefited. Dr. P. Velayutham, Dean i/c., Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi explained the importance of the certificate course in his felicitation address. Mrs. Balasaraswathi, Assistant Director of Fisheries, Thoothukudi stressed the need for such vocational certificate courses for solving unemployment issues among fisher youth and demanded more specialized short term training programmes for the fisher youth. Dr. L. Ranjith, Scientist, Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute also gave the felicitation address. Mr. M. Kalaiarasan, Assistant Professor, DIVF, Ramanathapuram coordinated the entire valedictory function. Professors of the Fisheries College and Research Institute, research students and staff of the department and Directorate also participated in the programme.

மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்பொருட்கள் தயாரித்தல் - சான்றிதழ் படிப்பு நிறைவு விழா அறிக்கை தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ.ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமாக இராமநாதபுரத்தில் செயல்பட்டு வரும் மீன்வளத் தொழில்காப்பகம் மற்றும் தொழில்சார் பயிற்சி இயக்குனரகத்தின் தூத்துக்குடி மையத்தில் மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்பொருட்கள் தயாரிப்பு பற்றிய மூன்று மாத காலச் சான்றிதழ் படிப்பு நிறைவு விழாவை பல்கலைக்கழக துணைவேந்தர் முனைவர் சுக. பெலிக்ஸ் இன்று (25.01.2019) கலந்துகொண்டு தலைமையுரையாற்றினார். துணைவேந்தர் தமது உரையில் இன்றைய இளைஞர் சமுதாயத்திற்கு திறன் மேம்பாட்டு பயிற்சிகள் அவசியம் எனவும், இதனை பூர்த்தி செய்யும் விதமாக ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடிப்பு, கடல் பாதுகாப்பு, மாலுமித்துவம் சார்ந்த சான்றிதழ், பட்டயம் மற்றும் பட்டப்படிப்புகளை பல்கலைக்கழகம் வழங்க இருப்பதாக கூறினார். மேலும் அவர் சான்றிதழ் படிப்பில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்ற மீனவ சமுதாய இளைஞர்களுக்குச் சான்றிதழ்களை வழங்கினார். இச்சான்றிதழ் படிப்பில் பங்குபெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு மீன்பிடித் தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் மீன்பொருட்கள் தயாரித்தல் சம்பந்தமாக கீழ்காணும் பல்வேறு தலைப்புகளில் வகுப்புகள் நடத்தப்பட்டன. இஞ்சினின் பாகங்கள் மற்றும் அவற்றின் பயன்பாடு, டீசல் இஞ்சினினில் ஏற்படும் பிரச்சனைகளை கண்டறியும் முறைகள், கடல் வரைபடங்கள், கடல் பயண விதிகள், கடலில் தகவல் பரிமாற்றம்ரூபவ் ஆழங்காட்டி, மீன் கண்டுபிடிக்கும் கருவி, படகில் ஆபத்துகால நடவடிக்கைகள், உயிர்காப்பு முறைகள், மீன்பிடி வலைகளின் வகைகள், பொறுப்பார்ந்த மீன்பிடிப்பு மற்றும் அதன் கோட்பாடுரூபவ் மதிப்பூட்டிய மீன்களை தயாரித்தல் மற்றும் அதன் பொருளாதாரம், மீன்பதன தொழிற்சாலைகளை பார்வையிடல் போன்ற பயிற்சிகள் அளிக்கப்பட்டன. மேலும் அவர்களை தொழில் முனைவோர்களாக மாற்றுவதற்கு ஏதுவாக அவர்களுக்கு பாடங்களுடன், செயல்முறைசார்ந்த பயிற்சிக்கு அதிக முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுத்து நடத்தப்பட்டது. இச்சான்றிதழ் படிப்பை அளிக்கும் இயக்குனர் முனைவர். கோ. சுகுமார் அவர்கள் தமது நன்றியுரையில் இவ்வகை தொழில்சார் கல்வித் தி;ட்டங்களின் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும் அதற்காக துணைவேந்தர் எடுக்கும் பல்வேறு முயற்சிகளையும் விளக்கமாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். மேலும் இச்சான்றிதழ் படிப்பை முடித்த இளைஞர்களை இப்பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் தூதுவர்களாக செயல்பட்டு தாம் கற்ற அறிவை மீனவ சமுதாய இளைஞர்களோடு பகிர்ந்து மேலும் பலர் இதுபோன்ற கல்வியை நாடி வரச்செய்ய வேண்டும் என்றார். வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கிய தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் பா. வேலாயுதம் அவர்கள் இச்சான்றிதழ் படிப்பின் நோக்கத்தையும், மீன்துறை உதவி இயக்குனர் திருமதி. பாலசரஸ்வதி அவர்கள் இப்பயிற்சியின் அவசியத்தையும், மேலும் பல குறுகிய கால பயிற்சி திட்டங்களின் தேவையையும் எடுத்துக் கூறினார்கள். மத்திய கடல் மீன்வள ஆராய்ச்சி நிலைய விஞ்ஞானி ல. ரஞ்சித் அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்க மையப் பேராசிரியர் நீ.நீதிச்செல்வன் வரவேற்புரை வழங்கினார். நிகழ்ச்சிகளை உதவிப் பேராசிரியர் மு. கலையரசன் தொகுத்து வழங்கினார். இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் கல்லூரியின் அனைத்து துறைத்தலைவர்களான பேராசிரியப் பெருமக்கள், சில ஆராய்ச்சி மாணவர்கள், மீன்பிடித்துறை மற்றும் இவ்வியக்கத்தின் பயிற்சியாளர்கள் மற்றும் பணியாளர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தனர்.
