Personal Effectiveness Programme Conducted at the Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi

The Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi and Rotary Club of SPIC Nagar, Thoothukudi jointly organized a Personal Effectiveness Programme for the final year B.F.Sc. students of this Institute on 09.01.2020. The main purpose of the programme is to train the students on goal setting, and to learn writing skills (curriculum vitae, biodata and resume). A group discussion was also conducted for demonstrating content of writing skills. Ms. Maithili Radhakrishnan was the trainer of this programme. A total of 48 students attended the programme.

The inaugural function was presided over by Dr. B. Sundaramoorthi, Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi. In his presidential address, he stressed on the importance of goal setting and writing skills for the students. Thiru. Radhakrishnan, President of Rotary Club of SPIC Nagar offered felicitation address. Dr. R. Santhakumar, Professor and Co-ordinator of this programme delivered welcome address. Dr. R. Jayaraman, Professor and Head and Dr. N. V. Sujathkumar, Professor, Department of Fisheries Extension, Economics and Statistics were also present throughout the sessions. In their feedback, the students stated that the programme was very useful to them and with the skills they learned they would be immensely benefited in their academic learning pursuits. Dr. G. Arul Oli, Assistant Professor proposed a vote of thanks in the concluding session.
