CONDUCTED ELOCUTION COMPETITION ON UNSUNG FREEDOM STRUGGLE HEROES OF INDIA INDEPENDENCE DAY QUIZ CONTEST AT GOVT. HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, THARUVAIKULAM

As a part of Commemoration / Celebration of 75 th Anniversary of India’s Independence Day (Azadi Ka Amri Mahotsav), the Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi is one of the constituent units under Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University conducted awareness programme among Tharuvaikulam Govt. Higher Secondary School students on Unsung Freedom Struggle Heroes of India and their sacrifice for the freedom.

A total of 75 school students were participated. In this awareness programme, photo exhibitions on 8 Unsung Freedom Struggle Heroes of India were displayed. These 75 school students were visited this exhibition one by one. After visiting this photo exhibition, Elocution Competition on Unsung Freedom Struggle Heroes of India among these school students by our college students. A total of 8 students from this college have actively participated in this competition. Miss Subhasini (I BFSc), Miss. Rajeshweri (III BFSc) and Miss. Afrin Banu (III BFSc) won the first, second and third places respectively.

Dr.R.Santhakumar, Dean i/c distributed the certificates of merit and participation to the students. The Dean i/c and all the staff of this institute congratulated the participated college & school students participated in the event.

The entire event was coordinated and successfully conducted by Dr.S.Athithan (Vice President, Students’ Association) and his team member Dr.K.S.Vijay Amirtharaj of this institute.
