Yoga Day Celebration at TNJFU - Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi on 21.06.2024

The Physical Education and NSS Unit of TNJFU- Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi celebrated the 10th Yoga Day on 21.06.2024. Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi presided over the function. During his presidential address, he explained origin of yoga in India and remembered the contribution of our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for declaring of International Yoga Day by the UN Council. The Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi is also giving Yoga practices to the staff and students twice in a week as extra curriculur activity. He also urged the staff and students to practice yoga regularly. A special lecture on value of Yoga in current Life style was given by Mr.K.Parthasarathi, Yoga Master, Five Element Yoga Reactive Therapy, Thoothukudi. He demonstrated the most important Asanas and Muthras in everyday life for the students and staff. Mrs. Malathi, Yoga Master also delivered a special lecture among the participants. More than 250 Nos. of students and staffs of this Institute attended and practiced common yoga protocol on the occasion. The Yoga Masters were honoured with mementos. Mr.M.Muruganantham, NSS Programme Officer delivered the welcome address and Dr. D. Natarajan, Assistant Director of Physical Education offered the vote of thanks.
