Nepal Students on an Exposure Visit to Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi

The undergraduate students pursuing B.Sc. (Fisheries) programme at Agriculture and Forestry University, Rampur, Nepal visited Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi on a 4 day exposure visit from 27.10.2018 to 30.10.2018. The main purpose of the visit is to gain exposure on marine fisheries, coastal aquaculture and fish processing technology. Thirteen students including 8 girls and two faculties from the Aquaculture and Fisheries program were given practical training and demonstration on marine capture fisheries, shrimp farming, seaweed farming, fish marketing practices and seafood processing. The visitors from Nepal were taken to marine fish landing centres at Fishing Harbour, Seafood processing plant, seaweed farm and shrimp farm around Thoothukudi, Mariculture Research Farm facility and RGCA at Tharuvaikulam, besides all the departments, Library and Museum of Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi. Dr.Dilip Kumar Jha, Professor of AFU, Nepal interacted with Dean and the faculty staff of the institute.

Dr.G.Sugumar, the Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi said the visit by Nepal Fisheries students will be an annual programme and the students will be given an exposure visit and training on marine fisheries related activities for a long duration from the coming years. Dr.S.Athithan, Professor and Head, Department of Aquaculture, coordinated the entire programme.

நேபாளத்தில் உள்ள விவசாயம் மற்றும் வனவளப் பல்கலைக்கழத்தில் இருந்து 2 பேராசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் 8பெண்கள் உள்பட 13 இளநிலை அறிவியல் (மீன்வளம்) பயிலும் மாணவர்கள் தங்களின் கல்வி மேம்பாட்டிற்கான பயணமாக 07.01.2018 முதல் 10.01.2018 வரை தூத்துக்குடி மீன்வளக் கல்லூரிமற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்திற்கு வருகைதந்தனர். இம்மாணவர்கள் கடல் மீன்வளம்ரூபவ் கடல்சார் மீன்வளம் மற்றும் மீன் பதனத் தொழில்நுட்பம் ஆகியவற்றினை அறிந்து கொள்ளும் நோக்கத்தில் வருகை புரிந்துள்ளனர். இந்த மாணவர்களுக்கு மீன்வளர்ப்பு மற்றும் மீன்வளம் குறித்து பயிற்சி வகுப்புகளும் மற்றும் கடலில் மீன்பிடிப்புரூபவ் இறால் வளர்ப்புரூபவ் கடற்பாசிவளர்ப்புரூபவ் மீன் விற்பனைமுறைகள் மற்றும் மீன் உணவு பதனிடுதல் போன்ற பிரிவுகளின் கீழ் செயல்முறை விளக்கங்கள் அளிக்கப்பட்டன. மேலும் அவர்கள் மீன்பிடி துறைமுகத்தில் உள்ள மீன்பிடி இறங்குதளம்ரூபவ், மீன் உணவு பதனிடும் ஆலைகள்ரூபவ், கடற்பாசிவளர்ப்பு மற்றும் இறால் வளர்ப்பு பண்ணைகள்ரூபவ், தருவைக்குளத்தில் உள்ளகடல்சார் ஆராய்ச்சி பண்ணை வசதிகள்ரூபவ் வ.உ.சி. துறைமுகம் ஆகிய இடங்களுக்கு அழைத்துக் செல்லப்பட்டு அதன் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்து விளக்கப்பட்டன. இதனிடையே மீன்வளக் கல்லூரிமற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிலையத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்து துறைகள்ரூபவ் நூலகம் மற்றும் அருங்காட்சியம் ஆகியவற்றை விஜயம் செய்து அவற்றின் செயல்பாடுகள் பற்றி அறிந்து கொண்டனர். பின்னர் இக்கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் அவர்களுடன் முனைவா முனைவர் திலீப்குமார் ஜா கலந்துரையாடினர்.

மீன்வளக் கல்லூரிமற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சிநிலையத்தின் முதல்வர் முனைவர் கோ.சுகுமார் அவர்கள் கூறுகையில் இதுபோன்ற வருகையானது ஆண்டுக்கொரு நிகழ்வாகவும்ரூபவ் வருங்காலங்களில் இத்தகையமாணவர்கள் கடல்சார் மீன்வளம் குறித்தசெயல்பாடுகள் பற்றிய பயிற்சிகள் மற்றும் செயல்முறை விளக்கங்களை அதிக நாட்கள் இங்கு இருந்து அறிந்து கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்று அறிவுறுத்தினாhர். இவ்விஜயத்தின் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளராக மீன் வளர்ப்பு துறையின் தலைவர் மற்றும் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் சா.ஆதித்தன் அவர்கள் செயலாற்றினார்.
