Annual College and Sports Day Celebrated

The Second Annual College and Sports Day was celebrated at Institute of Fisheries Post Graduate Studies, Vaniyanchavadi, Chennai on 13.04.2019. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. K. Karal Marx, Dean i/c, at 10.30 AM.  The following on stage events such as solo song, solo dance, group dance, skit and mime were conducted. B.Tech (Biotechnology), M.F.Sc., MBA and Ph.D students participated in the competitions. Formal function was started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu. Mrs. A. Jemila Thangarani, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering. Followed by Dr. E. Suresh and Mr. N.  Daniel, Assistant Professors presented the Annual report on students’ activities and sports activities respectively. Dr. K. Karal Marx, Dean i/c delivered the presidential address. In his speech, he urged students to actively participate in the extracurricular activities besides education. He also informed about the available infrastructure facilities and facilities that will be built-up in the near future for the betterment of the students in the campus. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, TNJFU Dr. S. Felix was the Chief Guest of the function. In his address, he expressed his vision to make TNJFU OMR campus as one of the best institutes offering many programmes related to Fisheries. He has also announced about the new courses that is going to be offered BBA (Fisheries Business Management) from next academic year. Besides, the Vice-Chancellor has also motivated students to improve their overall personality to face the fast-changing world. Before concluding the programme, the chief guest distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners. Mr. R. Uthesh Ragavan and Ms. Niroshini B.Tech (Biotech) II year won the individual championship for men and women category. B.Tech (Biotechnology) II year students won the overall championship trophy. Dr. M. Ramanan, Director, TNJFU Business School proposed vote of thanks.
