MoU signed between Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU) and Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST)

The Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalaithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU), a premier University in the State for fisheries, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST) on 18.09.2018 at the Institute of Fisheries Post Graduate Studies, TNJFU OMR Campus, Chennai. Prof. G. Jeyasekaran, Director of Research, TNJFU and Dr. B. Sheela Rani, Director (Research), Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai signed the MoU in the presence of Prof. S. Felix, Vice Chancellor, TNJFU, among others including Dr. S.R. Radhika Rajasree, Scientist-F/ Professor & Head Centre for Ocean Research (DST-FIST sponsored Centre), Sathyabama Institute of Science &Technology, Chennai.

On the occasion, Dr. B. Sheela Rani and Prof. G. Jeyasekaran briefly explained the research activities of their respective Universities. Dr. B. Sheela Rani stated that the agreement is a welcome step for collaboration with State University since both the Universities will mutually benefit through faculty exchange and can take up joint research programmes. She also welcomed staff and students to visit their facilities especially to Department of Ocean Research. Prof. S. Felix, Vice Chancellor, TNJFU, in his address, said the MoU was signed to utilize the potential of faculties and facilities of both the Universities to have bigger and wider inter-institutional project. The MoU shall be beneficial to students and faculty members of both the institutions for academic, research and training purposes. Prof. K. Karal Marx, Dean, IFPGS, Chennai welcomed the gathering and Prof. G. Jeyasekaran, Director of Research delivered vote of thanks.
