MoU signed between Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University and CPF (India) Private Limited, Chennai

Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalaithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU) signed an MoU with the CPF (India) Private Limited, Chennai on 05.10.2018 at Royal Thai Consulate-General by the Director of Research, Prof. G. Jeyasekaran for TNJFU, and the President, Dr. Wichit Tanesanurak for CPF in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S. Felix, and the Consul-General, Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Deputy Consul-General, Ms. Pakvipa Ahviphan, Corporate Human Resource Manager (Aquaculture Business) of CPF, Mr. Talerngkiat Supasin, and Asst. Vice-President (Human Resource & General Affairs) of CPF, Dr. K. Gopinath. Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (“CPF”) is one of the World’s leading listed agro-industrial and food conglomerates, which operates vertically integrated business. The Company operates in 16 countries, exports products from Thailand to over 30 countries, covering over 4 billion populations around the World. The Company operates in both the livestock (swine, broilers, layers, and ducks) and aquaculture (shrimp and fish) businesses. The vertically integrated businesses incorporate the manufacturing of animal feed, animal breeding and animal farming; meat processing, the manufacturing of semi- cooked meat and fully-cooked meat; food products and ready meal products as well as the meat and food retailer and restaurant businesses. The CPF (India) has business in India, particularly in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, involved in aquaculture. This MOU shall help both the parties to function unitedly to scientifically and technically train the fishery professionals required for the industry as part of the “In-plant Training Curriculum” of the University. This shall also benefit the students to find employment in the company after the in-plant training in CPF (India) Private Limited.
