75th Independence Day Celebration at Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam

Nation’s 75 th Independence Day was celebrated at Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr.G.Sugumar hoisted the national flag at TNJFU Administrative building, Vettar River View Campus, Nagapattinam on 15 th August 2021.  On this occasion, while delivering his speech, the Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor highlighted and remembered the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and emphasized that young minds should bear those things in mind and focus on the positive aspects of Independent India. He further advised the faculty and students to sensitize themselves in the major achievements of our country. He further said that TNJFU is working tirelessly in bringing up the professional graduates, Paraprofessionals and technologists to the world in fisheries and aquaculture domain.

The Vice-Chancellor said that COVID-19 pandemic situation is an education emergency, where there is a need to ensure the quality of education in every possible way. Hence, the students were advised to attach top most importance for continuous learning. The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized the importance of vaccination and following of COVID-19 protocols for controling the spread of SARS COVID 2 virus. Dr.A.Srinivasan, Registrar, TNJFU welcomed the gathering and Dr.N.Manimehalai, Dean i/c, College of Fisheries Engineering, Nagapattinam proposed vote of thanks. University Officers, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, contractual staff and students of the University attended this programme following COVID 19 regulations.
