Dr.N.Subbaiyan, Secretary to the Government, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai visited the Directorate of Incubation and Vocational Training in Aquaculture (DIVA), ECR, Muttukadu, Chennai on 17.11.2025.
During the visit, the Secretary inaugurated the Biofloc Unit at DIVA, Muttukadu in the presence of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. N. Felix and Thiru. K.V. Muralidharan, Director of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. The shrimps grown in Biofloc systems were harvested. Crabs were stocked in floating cages installed in the back water of DIVA. The officials also visited the feed mill, Recirculatory Aquaculture System and other facilities of DIVA and observed the activities.
