Annual College and Sports Day Programme in Paraprofessional Institute of Fisheries Technology

Introduction:

The Annual College and Sports Day programme was conducted for the students of B.Voc. (IFPT) on 30.04.2024. The event was organized by the sports committee of the Institute with the aim of promoting physical fitness, companionship, and healthy competition among students

Event Highlights:

  • Track and Field Events: The main attraction of the sports day was the series of track and field events, including sprint races, relay races, long jump and javelin throw. Students demonstrated remarkable athleticism and determination in competing fiercely for top honors in the respective events.
  • Team Sports: In addition to individual events, there were also team sports competitions such as football, basketball, volleyball, and cricket. These matches were characterized by intense action and sportsmanship with teams displaying exceptional skill and teamwork on the field.
  • Cultural Performances: Alongside the sporting events, this programme also featured cultural performances including dance, Group dance, Singing and musical performances. These added an element of entertainment and diversity to the event and showcased the artistic talents of our students.
  • Closing Ceremony and Awards: The sports day concluded with a memorable closing ceremony during which winners and participants were felicitated by the Principal for their outstanding achievements and contributions. Medals, trophies, and certificates were awarded to the deserving individuals and teams in acknowledging their hard work and dedication.

Conclusion:

The college sports day event was a resounding success by bringing together the students and the faculty and staff in a celebration of athleticism, teamspirit. It served as a platform for students to showcase their talents, foster friendships and create lasting memories.

Alumni Meet in Paraprofessional Institute of Fisheries Technology

The Alumni meet of the PPIFT was conducted on 29.04.2023. Four passed out students from B.Voc. 2018-19 & seven students from 2019-20 batch participated enthusiastically in the programme. These students are presently working in various seafood processing plants of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as Quality controller, Store manager, Pre-processing supervisor, Processing supervisor and Quality supervisor. During this programme, the interaction session was conducted with PPIFT Alumni and the students to delineate the scope and opportunities of the Industrial Fish processing sector from their experience.

College Day and Sports Day Celebrations in Paraprofessional Institute of Fisheries Technology

The College Day and Sports Day of the PPIFT were celebrated in a grand manner on 29.04.2023. The cultural and sports day programme were meticulously organized with magnificence by the third year students of B.Voc. (IFPT).

The off stage and on stage events of the college day celebrations included quiz, singing (solo and group), dance (solo and group), Mr. Fitness and Mr.Skeleton. The indoor and outdoor sports events included cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, chess, carom board and throw ball. The athletic events included 100m, 200m, 1500m, Shot put, Javelin and Long jump.

Specific activities carried out by the placement cell for the students passed out recently and placement accomplished

Paraprofessional Institute of Fisheries Technology has conducted campus recruitment drive on 27.02.2023 for the post of Quality Controller in Fishin’ India Private Limited.

The programme was organized by Principal i/c, Mr. Navaneetha Krishnan, PPIFT and started with warm welcome speech of Principal about the aim of the project which was followed by the felicitation address of Mr. P. R. Pratap kumar, Project Head of Fishing’ India Private Limited team. He explained about the objectives and requirements of the company. Further, Dr. Vinoth kumar L., presented about the four level exams conducted by Food Industry Capacity and Skill Initiative as part of the curriculum of Bachelor of Vocational degree programme. Subsequently, group discussion was conducted and the students actively participated in the discussion. Then the students were interviewed personally by the panel of three members, Mr. P. R. Pratap kumar, Project Head, Mr. Mohammed Saifudeen dulvi, Director and Mr. Niroshan, Quality Assurance Manager to select suitable entry level candidates for the post.

Sixteen candidates including ten boys and six girls participated in the campus interview drive and the results were declared on 03.03.2023. Five candidates namely, Asvini devi C., Keerthana R., Priyadharshini R., Sairam K. and Solairathi V. were selected for the Quality Controller post.

73rd Republic day celebrated at PPIFT, Madhavaram on 26.01.2022

Paraprofessional Institute of Fisheries Technology celebrated the 73rd Republic day on 26.01.2022. The Principal of the Institute, Mr. C. Navaneethakrishnan, unfurled the National flag and the college staffs and security personnel honored the National Flag.



Food Industry Capacity and Skill Initiative (FICSI)

National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) is a quality assurance framework that organizes qualifications according to a series of levels of knowledge, skills and aptitude. Different levels of exams were conducted as a part of the vocational course in order to complete the degree programme. Hence, 4 levels of exams were conducted by Food Processing Sector Skill Council generally named as FICSI. The skill based exams that are conducted after the completion of subsequent semesters are followed below;
